Carbon Monoxide Testing

CALL US TODAY

What is Carbon Monoxide Testing?

Carbon Monoxide is a by-product of burning combustible fuels such as natural gas or LPG as used with central gas heating systems.

It is important to ensure these by-products of the combustion process are safely and completely exhausted through the exhaust flue system to the atmosphere.

Alliance Climate Control trained service technicians are equipped with instruments to measure the source and quantity of any harmful leaks to the flue system, they are also trained to identify warning signs of leaks, activating containment processes to restore safe operation.

Carbon monoxide testing is also incorporated with all Alliance Climate Control gas heating service and repair events, prioritised with high importance during inspection and service events of gas heating systems.

Why is Carbon Monoxide testing necessary?

Carbon monoxide is a harmful gas if ingested into the respiratory system.

It is odourless and colorless, causing a pattern of symptoms difficult to identify in those affected.

However, carbon monoxide testing is simple to identify with relatively inexpensive equipment enabling fast effective identification of leaking combustion by-product gases.

Alliance Climate Control technicians are able to identify such leakages quickly and effectively and will:

  • Identify possible points of gas leakage that may have a potential for carbon monoxide contamination.
  • Identify repairs that may be needed to resolve a source of combusted gas leakage.
  • Implement processes to ensure dangerous flue gas breaches are properly contained and managed.

How can we help to identify a carbon monoxide leak in your central gas heating system?

Alliance climate control technicians carry the type of equipment needed to identify potential leaks of combustible by product gases from the exhaust flue or other locations of the heat exchanger.

We recommend completing this test on a regular basis, especially after prolonged winter use at intervals not exceeding 12 months.

However, we are also ready to complete this test on demand if a particular concern for safety and well-being is expressed by the owner.

We can also arrange for a recurring safety check of your entire gas heating system with a priority for carbon monoxide testing at regular intervals.

These checks can be arranged on the phone or online with reminders sent in advance to make sure the selected time is convenient.
