What is a Floor Standing System Installation?
A Floor Standing System is a great way to warm the favourite rooms of your home during those cold winter months or to provide cool, clean and comfortable air when the weather becomes warmer.
An floor standing system installation comprises an indoor unit with air distribution outlets at floor level and at the top of the unit. Consequently, heated air can be directed both horizontally and vertically, generating a “3D” flow pattern, producing comfortable, convection currents. Alternatively, a wall or ceiling mounted indoor unit can be provided for increased comfort in larger rooms.
The outdoor unit housing the compressor and fan motor, contained within a robust cabinet, is discreetly positioned outside in a location where suitably clean intake air is available and exhausted air can be dissipated freely.
One of the greatest advantages of a split system is that one outdoor unit is able to supply heating or cooling either to a single unit or up to nine individual units for large areas or different rooms with separate controllers.
For instance, the kitchen area may be subject to strong afternoon sun, at the same time and while preparing the evening meal, heat from the oven may also increase the room temperature above the comfort threshold.
The compressor will automatically switch to cooling mode until the temperature returns to a pre-set comfort level, at the same time, the temperature in another room may be below its’ set temperature requiring the compressor to provide more heated air to this room.
Varying comfort levels such as in this example, can all be automatically provided by a single outdoor unit supplying conditioned air to multiple indoor units.
Why is a Floor Standing System Installation better?
The indoor unit of a floor standing system has an unobtrusive profile which enables it to be located in suitably inconspicuous position.
Sometimes the unit can be partially inserted into a wall or even occupy a disused fireplace.
Air flow options allow heated air to be “fanned” out in both a horizontal and vertical direction at the same time. Air outlet grilles, provided at floor level and also at the top of the unit, can be combined or selected individually to distribute air and rapidly achieve the required comfort levels in all areas of the room.
Coupled with technological advancements of Daikin’s inverter compressor and load sensing DC drive motor, the compressor maintains a very constant room temperature once the set temperature is achieved, requiring minimal energy to sustain the required comfort level.
A floor standing system has many benefits, including:
- An unobtrusive, art deco designed cabinet containing the blower fan, finned coil and high technology filtration medium.
- Maximum efficiency direct current motor and inverter compressor deliver maximum power at start up then maintain consistent comfort levels around set temperature levels. This enables more consistent room air temperatures and consumes less energy.
- Indoor sensors in the fascia panel automatically sense dry humidity levels, room temperature and occupant numbers. If no occupants are detected, the outdoor unit will shut down whilst the indoor unit remains on standby.
- Smartphone applications also enable operation of the unit prior to the arrival of family members, enabling set comfort levels to be attained on arrival. Consequently, the compressor is able to adopt a maintenance mode more rapidly, consuming less energy than if it had been manually activated.
How can we help with your Floor Standing System Installation?
Selection of the most suitable capacity floor standing system is imperative to provide a comfortable living space for you and your family. Alliance Climate Control can design a system that will meet your needs for both cooled or heated conditioned air with the least running cost.
The capacity of a floor standing system should be selected considering room size and typical usage, potential position of the indoor unit together with windows and openings that are likely to increase room temperature due to heat load from the sun.
Alliance Climate Control have sound experience in the design of systems and installations to counteract any negative aspects, providing you with an installation that will not only provide you with a comfortable environment but also enhance the value of your home
We will also be available during construction and following installation, to make sure the entire installation is completed and operating to your absolute satisfaction.
We can also visit as needed to check the systems’ operation, clean the filters and inspect other vital elements. In fact, Alliance Climate Control recommend regular service events at intervals not exceeding 12 months to ensure the system operates to your total satisfaction.
