What is a Commercial Air Conditioning
System Installation?
Installation of a Commercial Air Conditioning System is the most energy efficient way to keep clients, guests and employees comfortable. A ducted Commercial Split or Multi-Split system can deliver clean comfortable air to different parts of your office, public building or retail area. Different set temperatures can be maintained in different zones, compensating for varying comfort levels or frequently opening doors.
For larger open areas such as restaurants, theatres or convention facilities, ceiling cassette or suspended ceiling systems may be employed. Each of these systems, often twice as powerful as conventional split or multi-split residential systems, feature variable compressor load sensing and energy saving features plus temperature and motion sensing capabilities that will shut down the system if no movement is detected after a set period of time.
Each of these systems share a common operating principle in that an outdoor unit, housing the compressor and finned condenser coil, supply pressurised refrigerant gas to the respective indoor unit. This indoor unit houses the finned evaporator coil and fan blower, together with an air filtration medium to ensure air entering the conditioned space is clean and comfortable.
However, a ceiling mounted cassette system is able to deliver air in a 360° arc in more than 20 different configurations and is particularly suited to long narrow rooms, “L” shape or irregular shaped spaces.
A suspended ceiling system is more suitable in regular shaped spaces with higher ceilings up to 4.3 metres high. It requires no intrusion into the ceiling cavity and has alternating air flow capabilities in both vertical and horizontal directions.
Both systems, manufactured by reputable companies such as Daikin or Fujitsu, ensure compressor output meets cooling demand rapidly, yet consume the least amount of energy necessary.
Once the set temperature is achieved, compressor output is automatically adjusted to maintain the required temperature. Sensors monitoring temperature or movement in the conditioned space, trigger the compressor to provide more cooling or to shut down if no motion is detected.

Why is a Commercial Air Conditioning System Installation?
Similarly, the outdoor unit comprising a robust cabinet, only requires a location providing clear air, a stable footing base and a supply of electrical power. In the case of large installations, multiple units are able to be located close together if needed, with the provision, sufficient space is provided according to the manufacturers recommendations for suitable heat dissipation and service access.
- Sufficient capacity for high on-demand cooling can be provided to the conditioned space at any time.
- Compressor inverter technology employed by Daikin and Fujitsu enable rapid cooling achieving set temperatures quickly. Once achieved, the inverter compressor only consumes minimal power to maintain the required set temperature level.
- Compressor inverter technology employed by Daikin and Fujitsu enable rapid cooling achieving set temperatures quickly. Once achieved, the inverter compressor only consumes minimal power to maintain the required set temperature level.
- Motion sensors prevent redundant consumption of energy by stopping operation after a pre-set time has elapsed after no occupants are detected.

Commercial Air Conditioning System Service
Regular service of commercial air conditioning systems is critical to ensure continued operation at peak efficiency.
Alliance Climate Control recommend regular services at least once every 12 months with an Eco-clean service to the finned coils every alternate year.
Regular inspections and services are easily completed by our fully trained Daikin and Fujitsu service technicians, generally without impact on your operation. Such inspections are an invaluable tool to highlight any matters requiring further attention, or to prevent costly unplanned repairs or frustration.
Conventional Split, Multi-split may be serviced directly at the installed wall unit in the conditioned space. Ceiling cassette systems are serviced within the ceiling cavity, whilst suspended ceiling mounted systems may be serviced entirely from beneath the unit, ensuring clear access to all components.
Alliance Climate Control annual service inspections are designed to keep your system operating at peak performance all year round.
Regular service inspections include, making sure the compressor, drive motor and other critical components are operating correctly, checking both finned coils, fan blowers and filters are clean. Monitoring refrigerant pressure and sensing function operation.
Analysing these processes, Alliance Climate Control’s trained technicians are able to identify the likelihood of future maintenance requirements or malfunctions before they might occur.
We also recommend an Alliance Climate Control Eco-clean service every two years to clean and service the finned coils incorporating a microbial treatment of the coils to eradicate any dust, dirt or dangerous pathogens.
We will also check the ducting and air entry grilles to make sure they are clean and sealed properly ensuring you get the most benefit from your commercial air conditioning system.
Mould
Grime, dirt & mould polluting and affecting the air which you breathe.
Blocked Coil
Contaminates blocking the coil, preventing sufficient and healthy airflow.
Before
Blocked filter due to dirt, dust and harmful contaminates, causing blockages and unhealthy air.
Why are commercial air conditioning system services necessary?
Commercial air conditioning services scheduled at regular intervals, make sure your system is working at peak performance, ensuring filtration mediums are free from dust or pollens that may prevent efficient cooling or damage system components, adversely affecting the comfort of your clients, visitors or employees.
Regular service inspections include:
-
Operation of the inverter compressor, drive motor and other critical components of the system ensuring a consistent and desired air delivery temperature.
- Finned coils, fans or filters to make sure a clear path airflow is enabled. Additionally, inspection of sealed ducting connections and room entry grilles to prevent entry of dust or conditioned air to escape.
- Monitoring level of refrigerant gas. A low level may be perceived by occupants as inferior cooling efficiency, further emphasised if air flow through the evaporator coil is poor or restricted resulting in extra load on the compressor.
- Inspection of dust accumulation on fans or condenser coil, reducing the heat dissipation characteristics of the condenser coil, in turn putting extra load on the compressor when the condensing process is compromised.
How an unmaintained Air Conditioner
can affect your health and your system?
Pollute Air
Contaminants pollute your air conditioner and also propel through the air every time you run your system.
STRAIN
Contaminates lodged in the filters of the fan coil will cause the coil to freeze over and place unnecessary strain on the systems.
BActeria
Contaminants build harmful bacteria in your system, causing blockages which prevents sufficient airflow.
REduce Air Flow
Contaminates reduce your air conditioners air flow capacity to heat or cool the air, causing high heat loads on the fan motor.
ALLERGIES
Over time, this can be the reason behind allergies, ill-health and the cause of asthmatic and other respiratory illnesses.
Water Damage
Dirt and grime block the drain tray with the potential to cause water overflow and cause serious damage to your system.

What are Commercial
Air Conditioning System Repairs
Air conditioner systems consistently operate effectively when airflow paths remain free from obstruction and normal operation of major components is enabled. To ensure this is achieved and to maintain satisfactory operation, regular system servicing should be completed at least every 12 months by Alliance Climate Control technicians, trained to service Daikin and Fujitsu products and skilled to identify any signs of future concern.
However, by contrast, poor maintenance of the filtration system or an absence of whole‑of‑system service schedules may allow dirt build up to reduce cooling airflow, or allow poor operation of other critical components to remain unchecked, ultimately causing the compressor and other critical components to operate under greater load which may cause premature failure.
Whilst such repairs may be untimely, frustrating and expensive, Alliance Climate Control’s technicians have the ability to repair or replace the required components rapidly, accessing replacement parts from a vast warehouse of readily available spare parts.
Furthermore, a complete a check of the entire system will be made to ensure each and every component is operating to factory specification. They will also complete a performance check of the refrigerant gas pressure and ensure air at each outlet is delivered at verified temperature and air volume levels using accurately calibrated instruments.

Why are Commercial Air Conditioning
System Repairs necessary?
Repairs to Commercial air conditioning systems are usually required when system components fail to operate correctly. Unfortunately, this is often when the system is operating under severe conditions such as unusually hot days or after a particularly windy and seasonally dusty period or in other words, at a time when they are most needed to perform well.
In addition to resolving system problems and performing required repairs to commercial air conditioning systems Alliance Climate Control will ensure your entire system is restored to a condition as close to “as new” as is possible.
- Inverter compressor operation and load sensing, together with energy demand of the drive motor.
- Refrigerant gas pressure at various stages in the circuit, in addition to checking, the function of the circuit control (Thermal Expansion) valve operation.
- Cleanliness of the finned evaporator coil in the indoor unit, together with the finned condenser coil in the outdoor unit. In addition to operation of the respected blower fans ensuring the required heat exchange process takes place efficiently.
- Verify the correct air volume and temperature is being delivered to each room entry grille using accurately calibrated instruments.
- Ensure the ducting system connections are properly sealed to prevent conditioned air losses or introduce dust or foreign matter into the airflow path.

The importance of business maintaining their air conditioning
Generally
As a business owner, the health of our staff and guests are our number 1 priority. Regular maintenance is done on all our air conditioning systems to make sure pollutants such as mould (black mould), dust, dirt, grime and viruses are eliminated.
Hairdresser, Barbers, Beauty Salons
Beauty salons and hairdressers uses several different types of products like hair spray, hair dye, bleach, hair dryers and other materials that releases pollutants into our indoor air. This may clog up your air conditioning systems and blow out pollutants back into your shop. This likely means your guests who spend hours relaxing in your shop will be breathing in all types of pollutants.
General, Dentist, Physiotherapy
As a health practitioner, we understand that you care especially for the health of your staff and patients. Many procedures and materials you use may block up the filters of your air conditioner. Blocked up air conditioner can contain viruses and pathogens that affects people with respiratory issues and allergies.
Furniture, Homeware & Decor
Any stores that burn scented candles or spray fragrances on a regular basis will likely have clogged up air conditioning systems, quicker than those who do not. This means that the air conditioner is not able to operate as efficiently before which likely means a larger energy bill is coming your way.
Pet Store/ Veterinary Hospitals
Having many animals around and visiting the building means extra pet dander, odours, and other animal pollutants. Maintaining your air conditioning regularly can make sure that the air conditioning is working efficiently and minimise the risk of early break down such as foul smells, rattling, and leaks.
Cafes, Greengrocers, Delis, Restaurants
Businesses that involves serving food and drinks should take extra care of their air conditioning systems. Although mould within air conditioners may not be as obvious as mould on a bread, it exists. This can produce an uncomfortable environment especially for families with respiratory issues and allergies.
