Electrical Fault Detection & Inspection
What is Electrical Fault Detection?
Electrical fault detection is sometimes plainly obvious when “arcing flash” at a power point or appliance is evident or it may require a mixture of experience and knowledge.
Fault detection provided by Alliance Climate Control technicians is a pre-emptive method to check the condition of your electrical system or electrically powered equipment before becoming a concern or cause of failure.
Most electrical devices incorporate mechanical systems that wear or gradually lose their performance characteristics. These electrical devices such as washing machines or air conditioners and many more, provide comfort or convenience to our daily lives; when they don’t work properly or operate poorly, we become disappointed.
Alliance Climate Control technicians are well-equipped, trained in fault detection capabilities and widely experienced to know what to look for, enabling prompt, pre-emptive action to resolve a problem before it becomes one. We also provide a report of our findings to know what problems, and perhaps expenditures, lie ahead in order to keep the equipment in top operating condition.
How can we detect electrical faults with your appliances?
Alliance Climate Control’s local electrician, know which components are likely to provide continuous performance over a set period of time and which components may require attention.
An air conditioner system for example may have a life of 10-15 years if maintained regularly. This means ensuring the filters, mechanical and refrigeration systems are working properly. However, it’s reasonable to assume a 3% loss in performance each year, so that by the time 15 years has elapsed, the system may only be operating at an efficiency level around 50%.
With a regular inspection regime, the rate of annual performance loss may be retarded or the equipment’s life prolonged, particularly if critical replacement parts are also included. Subscribing to a regular inspection program may provide savings in annual energy costs and suppression of unplanned maintenance.
In fact, a regular inspection regime is likely to cost less than the increased running and maintenance costs that might be experienced if regular fault detection is overlooked.
Regular inspection by an Alliance technicians may not only identify safety hazards but they can also:
How to best utilise a Electrical Fault Detection report
An electrical fault detection report, prepared by an Alliance Climate Control technician, gives a clear appreciation of the current condition of the item being inspected, whether it be electrical or mechanically powered.
Similar to a service report provided by your vehicle dealership, an Alliance Climate Control electrical fault report will indicate what actions are recommended to keep your equipment in top operating condition and may include suggested replacement parts or enhancements to help keep your system operating as efficiently as possible, saving money and inconvenience.
When an electrical fault detection inspection is commissioned, it gives an assurance of the health and well-being of your electrical system and other electrical devices that were inspected as part of the electrical fault detection report and inspection.
Electrical fault detection reports are a positive step to keeping your device running costs low while knowing its on-going condition.
